Lourdes Allende started collaborating with The Appleton Group in 2005 from her home-office in Merida, Mexico, researching the Latin American markets and assisting with phone calls and communications with members and candidates in those regions; in 2007, she became the Latin American Programs Coordinator, getting further involved with our Spanish and Portuguese speaking members and acting as the main contact for all Latin America; then in 2011, she became a permanent employee of TAG as our Market Research Analyst and relocated to Houston.
Lourdes is currently in charge of researching new markets and identifying potential candidate firms, communicating with the US Department of Commerce and local professional organizations to gather research data, assisting with the coordination of regional meetings and events in Latin America, coordinating and making member orientation and retention calls, and assisting during Regional and International Conferences, among other things. Her previous experience includes working for one of the leading financial institutions in Mexico, as well as several years as a freelance translator, interpreter, and technical writer, for various companies in the United States, Europe and Asia.
Lourdes has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, with Special Merits, and a Certificate in Translation English to Spanish, also with Special Merits. She is fluent in English and Spanish, and is currently studying Portuguese.
